Shortly after his arrival at Muttville, canine kissing booth Cork joined the local welcoming committee. He’s the youthful Jack Russell chi mix with lots of leg, pageboy ears, and the markings of a Guernsey cow. Hard to miss and even harder to quit once you get a dose of his gentle sweetness and shy enthusiasm. A friend of dogs and a superfan of humans, he doesn’t jump up as much as insinuates himself, drawing the ear scritches, pets and snuggles he craves. He offers the aforementioned kisses and well-mannered adoration in return. He’s got plenty of energy and is sure to have even more when he gains a few pounds. Looking for a polite sweetie pie who’s going to love your cooking? Cork is the guy. (Bonus: He counts opening a can or bag as cooking.)

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Cork has been very well-mannered in the home—calm, not reactive to noises, and he never barks. He prefers to sleep independently and is most comfortable settling in the living room on his own. He also doesn’t tend to explore the house much and is very respectful of his space.

He’s incredibly affectionate and loves cuddling on the couch. He’ll happily spend most of the day snoozing by your side. He politely asks to come up on the couch rather than jumping up on his own.

He has a great appetite and has been enjoying his well-portioned meals, as we’re working on helping him gain a bit of weight.

Cork is fully potty trained and enjoys going on walks. We typically aim for potty breaks at most every four hours. On walks, he can be quite alert.
