If you’re looking for a gentle older gal with floppy ears and a soulful look of understanding in her eyes, welcome to Muttville, Cottage! We know it’s cheese week, but Cottage is the epitome of cottagecore – you can just envision her sitting in a cozy rocking chair by the fire knitting a sweater while the smell of chocolate chip cookies baking permeates the atmosphere. Cottage is very polite with the other dogs, so you can tell she’d enjoy having them over for tea while they spin a yarn or two. And she’s even more cuddly with humans, so you’re welcome to join her in her rocking chair. If you’re looking for a cute chihuahua companion to be your sidekick in a cozy life, Cottage is the girl for you!

A gentle, mellow, and trusting pup, Cottage has been doing well navigating new experiences in foster care. She bonded with me quickly and became my little shadow within an hour of arriving at my home.
Cottage was easy and unafraid to introduce to my partner (a taller man) and two resident dogs (who are 4x her size), although she seems to prefer the company of humans, and is mostly indifferent to my dogs.
She has been quiet and not overly excitable, but has been showing more enthusiasm and playfulness with every day in our care. Recently, she has started gently pawing me when she wants attention and greets me excitedly at the door whenever I come home from being away.
She is great on longer walks around the neighborhood and even a short hike out on a trail, but she would be fine with shorter outings. Cottage mainly wants to be by your side, wherever you are.
